About Mark Shephard
Mark and Jennifer Shephard started Shephard Imageworks in 2000 so as to expand beyond the horizons of newspaper photography, and into commercial, portrait, wedding and other editorial photography opportunities.
Mark is the primary photographer in Shephard Imageworks, and his clients have included Southwestern Michigan College, Lake Michigan College, Elkhart General Hospital, Affinity Media Group, USA Today, Navistar, Oaklawn, G&G Media, Bloomberg News, Blue Moon Design Group, Inc., Universal Bearings LLC, and Waste Away Group, Inc.
Mark also contributes photographs and stories as a correspondent for the Elkhart Truth in Elkhart, Indiana.
Mark has worked for the Herald-Palladium and Johnson Rauhoff Communications in St. Joseph, Michigan, and the South Bend Tribune in South Bend, Indiana. He studied visual communications and received a BFA from Ohio Univeristy after he served as a Photographer's Mate in the U.S. Navy.
Mark met his wife Jennifer on the sidelines of a high school football game, which they were covering for local newspapers.
Jennifer is the chief photographer at the Elkhart Truth.
Jennifer has studied photojournalism at Ball State University, and has worked at several Indiana newspapers including Muncie's the Star Press, Anderson's the Herald Bulletin, and Michigan City's the News-Dispatch.
